Paying attention to every detail, Head Chef Scott Young recreated the original menu for the 23 guests. Back in 1961, the wedding lunch for 70 cost 10’6 and Tregenna has decided to honour the fee by charging just £10.60 for the whole lunch.
Tregenna has also provided a complimentary room for their special night as well as a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of fresh flowers to celebrate the 50 year milestone.
The couple are delighted to be spending their golden anniversary at Tregenna Castle, having frequented the hotel many times over the years celebrating events such as their son’s wedding reception and Mrs Kitchen’s parents’ 25th Wedding Anniversary:
“Our wedding day was the most special day of our lives and it’s so wonderful to recreate the magic of it all. We have such fond memories for Tregenna, which has played a big part in our lives over the years, and it’s so wonderful to be back.”
Sheila Barker, the hotel’s General Manager, says that the whole team has enjoyed giving the couple such a treat.
“To reach a golden wedding anniversary is such an achievement and helping them to celebrate their romance has charmed the whole team! Many couples get married here these days and it’s wonderful to think that they will enjoy their lives together as much as Mr and Mrs Kitchen have.”
Tregenna Castle Hotel and its 72 acre estate overlooking St Ives Bay is licensed for weddings both inside and out on the lawn, offering couples the opportunity to marry indoors or outdoors, providing a fairytale location for that special day.
